El Cielo has a pristine white sand beach that meets the crystal blue water, making it one of the most beautiful spots in the region. If you go snorkeling, look out for the giant starfish common to the area.

Discover The Mayan Ruins

There are many notable Mayan Ruins sites in Mexico, and you can find two of them in Cozumel itself. 

San Gervasio is located in the northern part of the island and was a holy landmark around 100 B.C. On the southern part, you will find El Cedral, where you can still see a ruin of an ancient fertility temple that dates back to 800 A.D. 

We recommend visiting both sites, as they each have a rich history that teaches you a great deal about the island’s origins.
