IHG Celebrates Milestone avid hotels Opening

IHG Hotels & Resorts celebrated a new milestone this spring, opening its 60th avid hotels property with the debut of avid hotel Atlanta – Conyers I-20, its sixth avid in Georgia.

Eleven new avid properties opened in 2022, and an additional 145 are in the pipeline across the Americas region, including 16 currently under construction.

According to IHG, its fastest-growing, new-build brand, avid hotels is on pace to nearly quadruple in size in the coming years.

"It's incredible to be celebrating this milestone for the brand. This is a testament that our ‘just right’ approach – to deliver the basics done exceptionally well at a fair price – is resonating with both owners and guests," Karen Gilbride, VP of avid hotels, said in a statement.

"We’ve been focused on growing the avid brand and our footprint in North America. We recently opened our first-ever property in Canada, have expanded our presence in Mexico with three open hotels, and are now welcoming guests in 24 states across the U.S. – all with the same core proposition of a great night’s sleep in a hotel that is modern, clean, comfortable, and dependable no matter where or when you stay."

Other recently opened hotels include avid hotels – Fort Wayne North, avid hotel Toronto – Vaughan Southwest and avid hotel Odessa Northwest. For now, the brand is focused on continued growth in the Americas region, with new-to-market hotels opening in Tuscaloosa, Austin and Tulsa later this year.
