Releasing Israeli hostages: Hamas gunman shakes hand, leaves with ‘Shalom’
Al-Qassam, Hamas' military wing, released a video of two elderly people being freed from over a two-week captivity since the Islamist group launched a surprise attack on Israel during the intervening night of Shabbat, Jewish weekend holiday. In the fresh video clip, both hostages Nurit Cooper and Yocheved Lifshitz were seen being handed over to the Red Cross.

Two Israeli women, wearing purple robes, seen walking unsteadily while holding hands of a masked Hamas fighter. According to Times of Israel, the fighter offered both of them snacks and drinks. In most part of the video, both women looked terrified.

Before she walked ahead, Lifshitz turned and shaked the hand of the gunman, who was also heard greeting ‘Shalom’, salutation used in Jewish community, to her.
The recent release came days after an American mother-daughter duo from captivity.
After Cooper and Lifshitz were released, they were immediately ferried in a helicopter to a hospital in Tel Aviv. The medical official at the hospital announced them healthy, however, they said uthorities will come to a better understanding of their condition shortly.
Both the hostages were on medications and they authorities believe they may have been taken off medicines for two weeks during their captivity.
