AmaWaterways has opened reservations for 2025 river cruise itineraries, welcoming both individual and group bookings. Travellers can now begin planning 2025 journeys along rivers in Europe, Africa, Egypt, Asia and Colombia, with some strong early-booking incentives.

For reservations on 2025 sailings booked by September 30, 2023, AmaWaterways is offering savings of up to 20% on cruise fares depending on sailing dates and destinations.

“With 2023 shaping up to be a very successful year and all indications pointing to a record breaking 2024, we could not be more excited to announce the opening of reservations for our 2025 itineraries,’’ said AmaWaterways co-founder and president Rudi Schreiner.

“To meet the growing demand for river cruising, we will have additional ships in Colombia and Portugal, which brings our award-winning fleet to 29 river cruise ships welcoming between 28 and 196 guests each.

“We are also introducing a new seven-night Imperial Danube itinerary on the Danube and bringing back our 14-night Magnificent Europe itinerary taking guests from Amsterdam to Budapest, which will appeal to new and returning guests that want to spend a little extra time exploring the fascinating art, music, history and culinary delights across this region.”

AmaWaterways says opening reservations early for 2025 will help advisors selling groups.

“Group business is very important to AmaWaterways and by opening our 2025 itineraries early this year, we are offering our travel advisor partners a little extra time to reach out to their clients to organize this type of travel whether they are groups made up of friends and families celebrating milestone birthdays or anniversaries, or special interest groups involving art, music or sports,” said Kristin Karst, EVP and co-founder of AmaWaterways.

“We encourage our travel partners to use the resources available on our Travel Advisor Portal on our website and to contact their Business Development Manager or our dedicated Group Department to help build this important base of business for 2025.”

New Ships: AmaMelodia and AmaSintra

In November 2024, AmaWaterways will become the first major river cruise line to take guests along the Magdalena River in Colombia with the launch of the 60-passenger AmaMagadalena.

In June 2025, AmaMelodia will join her sister ship, offering 32 twin-balcony staterooms. On both ships AmaWaterways will offer locally inspired Latin American cuisine, immersive excursions and a variety of lively local entertainment.

AmaWaterways is offering a choice between two seven-night itineraries, Wonders of Colombia and Magic of Colombia, sailing between Cartagena and Barranquilla with pre- and post-cruise optional land packages in Medellin, Colombia and Panama City.

In Europe, the new AmaSintra will join its sister ship, AmaDouro, and the AmaVida for journeys along Portugal’s Douro River. AmaSintra will offer a choice of two seven-night itineraries – the Enticing Douro, a roundtrip journey from Porto and Flavors of Portugal & Spain, a sailing experience from Porto to Vega de Terron, Spain.

New Itinerary: Imperial Danube

In 2025, AmaWaterways will launch Imperial Danube, a new seven-night itinerary sailing roundtrip from Budapest, Hungary on the Danube River. As well as taking in the scenic cruising around the Danube Bend, travellers will enjoy visits to Bratislava, Durnstein and Vienna. Guests can opt for a two-night, pre-cruise land package in Budapest before embarking on their river cruise adventure.

Returning Favourite: Magnificent Europe

With the increased demand for longer vacations, AmaWaterways is bringing back its 14-night Magnificent Europe itinerary in 2025. Cruising between Amsterdam, the Netherlands and Budapest, Hungary, guests follow the footsteps of emperors, kings, and queens, as they are immersed in the heart of Europe, crossing the Continental Divide along the Danube, Main and Rhine Rivers and traversing five countries and the historic Main-Danube Canal.
