Scenic Group to Offer Starlink Across All Ships in 2023
Scenic Group, the parent company of Emerald Cruises and Scenic Luxury Cruises and Tours, is adding Starlink internet service to its entire fleet across both brands this year to offer more reliable connectivity anywhere in the world.
The Scenic Eclipse II featured Starlink upon its christening on June 3; the Emerald Azzurra will receive the service by the end of June. The Emerald Sakara should welcome the service in August. The Scenic Eclipse will get the service by the end of the year.
Following the FCC’s decision to allow SpaceX’s satellite-based internet service for use on airplanes, ships and other vehicles in July, 2022, cruise lines haven’t waited to hop on the trend of faster and more reliable internet service, available anywhere in the world.
The list of cruise lines without Starlink is now shorter than those who use it. Scenic Group’s two cruise lines now belong to the same group as Carnival, Norwegian, Hurtigruten, Royal Caribbean, American Queen Voyages, Seabourn and many others.
