See Jeremy Allen White’s Transformation as Bruce Springsteen for New Movie
Yes, Boss.
Jeremy Allen White is suited up to play music legend Bruce Springsteen in the first look image of The Bear star in the upcoming biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere.
In the snap, the 33-year-old sports a red flannel shirt and black leather jacket to play The Boss, growing out his hair to imitate Springsteen’s luscious locks.
The highly anticipated film, which just started shooting, will follow Springsteen during the making of his 1982 album Nebraska.
But while the movie won’t hit theaters until sometime in 2025, the Emmy winner recently came face-to-face with the “Born in the U.S.A.” singer at the New York City premiere of the documentary Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band earlier this month. And the Shameless alum previously revealed he got the seal of approval from Springsteen himself.
“I’m so excited to start this thing ,” White told Deadline in September at the Emmy Awards. “I can say I’ve got a really beautiful team of people helping me and Bruce has been really lovely and supportive and available, which has made this whole process an extra joy. His support and Jon Landau, his management support, who has a large role in the film as well. So I feel really lucky.”
White is just the latest rising star to take on a musical biopic. Austin Butler’s turn as Elvis Presley in Baz Luhrmann’s 2022 film Elvis earned him an Oscar nomination. Taron Egerton picked up a Golden Globe for playing Elton John in 2019’s Rocketman.
