Malaysia offers many different landmarks, natural wonders, and man-made achievements to feast your eyes on, not to mention the food! However, with so much variety on offer, it’s difficult to know what to see while in Malaysia.

That’s why we’ve prepared this list to showcase the most amazing things Malaysia has to offer. Adventure awaits in any direction you choose!

See The View From The Petronas Twin Towers

If you visit Kuala Lumpur, look out for the impressive Petronas Twin Towers rising above other buildings. The view is spectacular whether you’re looking at them or out from them. Before 2004, the towers were the largest buildings in the world at 450 meters tall.

Guided tours of the towers offer a much closer look into the layout and history of the building. This made our visit really informative and exciting.

Explore The Taman Negara National Park

Malaysia contains many rainforests, but none are as old or impressive as Taman Negara. Translating roughly to “national park”, Taman Negara is the oldest rainforest in the world. The park is over 4000km² and is home to a variety of exciting animals, such as tigers and rhinos. These species are endangered, so they’re looked after in the park and kept at a safe distance from visitors.

If walking through the wild rainforests isn’t for you, consider taking a river cruise or boat tour through the park instead.

Climb Mount Kinabalu

If you’re into hiking and mountain climbing, why not take on Malaysia’s tallest mountain? Mount Kinabalu is over 4000m and as such demands a high level of skill.

Climbing Mount Kinabalu is one of the most popular vacation activities for tourists every year. The mountain is also recognized as a World Heritage Site, only designated to locations of extreme cultural or historical importance.

However, while the views take your breath away, note that the hike is quite challenging so isn’t suitable for inexperienced hikers.

Take A Cooking Class In Tanah Rata

Are you a foodie looking to make Malaysian meals? Try a cooking class in Tanah Rata! Tanah Rata houses multiple culinary schools and courses for tourists. While learning to cook new meals is always a treat, you’ll also have a great story to share back home.

Most Malaysian cuisine comes with vegetarian and non-vegetarian options to ensure everyone can enjoy it!

Visit Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Center

Originally opened in 1964, the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Center shelters and provides medical care for orangutans. It also looks after other wild animals such as gibbons and sun bears.

In addition, the Center also focuses its efforts on educating visitors about how to better take care of the animals. While you can’t interact with the animals for safety reasons, watching them in their natural environment is a real treat.

Uncover The Secrets Of The Mossy Forest

While the name is self-explanatory, you need to see this beautiful forest to believe it. Dense foliage, thick fog, and cold temperatures can make the forest feel otherworldly. It’s easy to forget you’re still in Malaysia, which makes this a really unique place to visit on your trip.

If you’re looking for one of the most unique locations in all of Malaysia, we think the Mossy Forest is exactly what you’re after.

Hike Through The Cameron Highlands Trails

The rolling hills and lush greenery of the Cameron Highlands offer some of the best scenery in all of Malaysia. For those battling with the heat, the hill station offers refreshments. As one of the most popular places to visit in Malaysia for hiking, you’re sure to make friends on the trails.

And trust us - the stunning views throughout the hike make every second worth it.

Make Your Way To Malaysia

Malaysia is the perfect vacation destination for those looking for adventure and beautiful landscapes. From the top of Petronas’ Twin Towers to Mount Kinabalu, the next breathtaking vista and natural wonder are never far.

No matter where you choose to go first, Malaysia has something beautiful to show you.
