Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights Unveils All-New Set of Original Haunted Houses

Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood have revealed even more original in-person terrors that will be lurking in the shadows at their Halloween Horror Nights events this fall. This year will see guests face a full lineup of nightmarish experiences, including five all-new original haunted house attractions and five nerve-wracking scare zones

The East and West Coast theme parks have just announced some all-new, terrifying haunted houses, including “The Exorcist: Believer”, inspired by the upcoming Universal Pictures film from producers Blumhouse and Morgan Creek Entertainment; “Chucky: Ultimate Kill Count”, based on the popular USA and SYFY television series; and “Universal Monsters: Unmasked”, a multi-faceted reflection of Universal’s lasting legacy of iconic cinematic monsters.

These terrors incarnate kick off at Universal Orlando on Friday, September 1 and at Universal Studios Hollywood on Thursday, September 7. Now in its 32nd year, the world’s foremost Halloween event will celebrate with a record-breaking 48 nights of immersing willing guests in the bone-chilling frights and spine-tingling sights that can only be found at Halloween Horror Nights.

Here is a sneak peek at the hair-raising horrors that await event attendees:

The Exorcist: Believer

This all-new, original haunted house is the incarnation of Universal Pictures’ fresh horror film from Blumhouse and Morgan Creek Entertainment (coming to theaters October 13, 2023), “The Exorcist: Believer”. This singularly sinister walk-through attraction will unleash a whole new level to Halloween Horror Nights. Following the plot of this new chapter in the film series, it will transport guests to a Haitian street market, where a demonic portal is unwittingly opened, two young girls disappear and are subsequently found with no memory of what occurred. After they start exhibiting unnatural behavior, it becomes clear that an exorcism is their only hope, and the souls of everyone who comes into contact with the girls—including event guests—are imperiled along the way.

Chucky: Ultimate Kill Count

Inspired by the cult classic Chucky films, and the spinoff USA and SYFY series, “Chucky: Ultimate Kill Count” casts the homicidal child’s toy as the star of his very own haunted house. The murderous living doll, enraged by the perceived disrespect directed at him by his peers, embarks on a quest to be taken seriously by transforming his haunted house into the ultimate abattoir by slaughtering every person who enters.

Universal Monsters: Unmasked

The all-new haunted house “Universal Monsters: Unmasked” takes guests down into the ancient underground Catacombs of Paris, which are filled with millions of human skeletal remains and even more sinister secrets. Lurking deep within the winding necropolis are many of Universal’s most notorious creatures and fiends, taken straight out of their cinema reels. The Phantom of the Opera, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Dr. Jekyll and his deranged alternate personality Mr. Hyde, and The Invisible Man also lie in wait, dreaming of the day they can exact vengeance against guests who dare disturb the twisted tunnels of their labyrinthine lair.
