Brian Austin Green Reveals Breaking Point in Marriage to Ex Megan Fox
Brian Austin Green can pinpoint when his marriage to Megan Fox went downhill.
After his Beverly Hills, 90210 costar Tori Spelling recalled a conversation with the Jennifer’s Body actress where she lamented the way Brian chewed, he admitted that was one of the signs they were just no longer in sync.
“I honestly think the chewing thing, she’d gotten to the point where things weren’t great, so I think everything was annoying her,” Brian, 51, noted on the Oct. 29 episode of the misSPELLING podcast. “You kind of get to the point where you’re like, ‘God, just the way you’re shuffling your feet right now. The way you’re putting that toast in the toaster’s just driving me crazy.’ It’s all that stupid little stuff.”
But the actor, who shares sons Noah, 10, Bodhi, 9, and Journey, 6, with Megan, stressed how it’s those kind of moments that can either make or break a couple.
“That to me is when you either have to make the choice to say, ‘OK, we’re going to go into therapy, and we’re gonna try to find our connection and we’re gonna try to find what’s going on now, or these things are going to sink us,’” he explained. “They’re going to be the death of us. Because they just build up and build up and get worse and worse.”
Tori, 51, noted that when the conversation first came up about Megan’s frustrations, she didn’t understand the complaint.
“I remember thinking at the time, ‘How bad could it be?,’” Tori said. “She loves him. That really bothers her?’”
Brian and Megan split for good in 2020 after nine years of marriage, finalizing their divorce in early 2022. And they’ve both found love since then. The Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen star went on to get engaged to Machine Gun Kelly, though they’ve had on-again/off-again moments over the last few years.
As for Brian, he got engaged to Sharna Burgess in 2023, about a year after the couple welcomed son Zane, 2. Back in April he opened up about his one coparenting rule when it comes to working with Megan.
"The number one," Brian—who is also dad to son Kassius, 21, with ex Vanessa Marcil—told E! News at the time, "is always make sure that everything is centered around the experience of the kids."
