As one the fabled Wonders of the Ancient World, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon’s tiered mountainside gardens and cascading beauty created an indelible impression of luxury and lavish exclusivity.

While the Zoëtry Marigot Bay St. Lucia has no connection to antiquity or bygone Hellenic culture, the all inclusive property’s 124 terraced suites, which extend several stories up a lush hillside, are quite unlike most resorts to which contemporary travelers are drawn.

The resort is attached to a private marina, the Marigot Bay Yacht Haven, at which some of the world’s extravagant yachts dock. Guests looking for exceptional experiences may opt for a private dinner in an evocative wine cellar or in a treetop-style venue.

Other dining options include five à la carte restaurants offering gourmet interpretations of traditional, contemporary and international cuisine. An onsite Rum Cave staffed by an expert in the Caribbean’s signature beverage offers deluxe tastings.

The property’s lush hillside setting, tall palm trees and luxury facilities and services, including a pair of infinity pools located on spacious decks.

The resort also offers a full-service spa. 24-hour concierge services and an absence of check-in or check-out times, combine to create an ideal atmosphere for sybaritic satisfaction.

SUBLIME SETTING

Tucked into a quiet tropical hillside of this mountainous island, the Zoëtry Marigot Bay St. Lucia’s suites extend several stories above a spacious private pool deck equipped with white-curtained cabana beds and lounge chairs.

Guests should be cautioned that there is a fair amount of stair-climbing attached to a stay here. Clients with significant mobility issues may find this is not the resort for their personal situation.

Otherwise, the resort grounds feature close by access to two infinity pools (with poolside waiter service), five restaurants including Le Bateau, whose Caribbean-inspired cuisine is served poolside with a view of the marina, and Meraki serving a fusion of Mediterranean and Asian fare.

The Marigot Bay Yacht Haven at the hill’s base is utilized by luxury yachts from across the globe, which moor at the marina, creating one-of-a-kind surroundings. The Hurricane Hole adjacent to the marina features bar fare and small bites in a friendly, pub-style atmosphere.

Daily afternoon teatime with live plant infusion, and private water ferry provides transfers to a white-sand private beach, local restaurants and other points around the bay.

EXCELLENT ACCOMMODATIONS

Stained-wood staircases lead vacationers to Zoetry Marigot Bay’s suites, which all feature fully equipped, designer-style kitchens, floor-to-ceiling windows with retractable white linen curtains, and spacious living rooms that lead to balconies overlooking the property. Suites also feature personal plunge pools and private, furnished balconies and terraces, with romantic tubs for two. The top accommodation is a 3,200 square-foot, three bedroom penthouse (two king-sized beds and one queen sofa bed) with garden and bay views that accommodates seven guests.

The two-story suite’s layout includes two balconies, two terraces and a private plunge pool. The suite’s two bathrooms are equipped with double vanities, rain showers, separate soaking tubs and a powder room.

Butler service is provided as part of the accommodations. Online rates start at $948.50 per person, per night. The property’s 915 square-foot junior suite opening room accommodations are designed for two guests and off er furnished terraces with resort views.

ISLAND ACCESS

While Zoetry Marigot Bay is an all-inclusive property, guests are encouraged to explore this exemplary island’s attractions.

Even among the naturally beautiful Caribbean region, Saint Lucia’s towering mountain peaks, leafy rainforests and volcanic mud baths are accessible to visitors via organized, guided tours. Resort concierge staff will arrange customized excursions.

Guests can travel from the resort to nearby Soufriere, where the Pitons, two soaring volcanic mountains (2,619 feet and 2,438 feet high), designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, can be hiked.

Travelers can also opt for catamaran tours in the waters surrounding the Pitons, where coral reefs cover nearly 60 percent of the site's marine area.

Additionally, a private resort water ferry takes guests to white-sand La Bas beach and to discover the nearby Marina Village.
