US Virgin Islands Partners with NY Jets to Promote Visitation

The U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Tourism (USVIDOT) announced a multi-year partnership with the National Football League (NFL)’s New York Jets.

Under the agreement, the Aaron Rodgers-led squad will team with USVIDOT on fan-facing social media collaborations and events promoting year-round visitation to “America’s Caribbean.”

“The New York metropolitan area is one of our main feeder markets,” Joseph Boschulte, USVIDOT’s commissioner, said in a statement. “There’s no better time than now to kick off this partnership between the U.S. Virgin Islands and the New York Jets.”

Added Boschulte, “We could not pass on the opportunity to collaborate with this longstanding franchise to showcase the vibrancy and culture of our beloved islands.”

USVIDOT will collaborate with the Jets to “curate and integrate unique elements of Caribbean culture” into gameday experiences for fans, including sweepstakes and giveaways, he said.

“We see great opportunity to unite our audiences and engage them in not only football but the vibrant culture of America’s Caribbean islands,” said Jeff Fernandez, the Jets’ vice president of business development & ventures.

“Having this partnership continues our mission of impacting lives beyond New York and sharing the game of football across the globe,” Fernandez added.

Expectations are high for the Jets in 2023 after four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers joined the team in the offseason. The Jets open their season on September 11 at MetLife Stadium in Rutherford, New Jersey against the Buffalo Bills.
