Europe is one of the safest places in the world to travel and, well, it’s really nice to not have to fret too much about personal safety while enjoying the sights and experiences of the continent. Do minor nuisances occur? Occasionally, but you’re extremely unlikely to ever experience anything violent here.
But even in Europe, some cities stand above the rest in the safety department. The following 25 are all either listed by European Best Destinations (an EU-backed online entity) as having below-average crime rates for the continent or mentioned in The Economist Intelligence Unit as one of the safest cities in the world for 2023. Oh, and they’re all great places to visit.
